Operation
Channel Math The Channel Math function calculates and displays the sum, difference, ratio or product of two
waveforms. See Figure 4-17a,b,c. Comparing waveforms using the ratio or difference functions is
useful for observing the change in a signal as it passes through a circuit element, such as an
amplifier or filter. For two-channel instruments, connect the Channel 1 sensor at the
input to the device (through a coupler, for example) and connect the Channel 2 sensor at the
output. The sum function is used to measure total power and the product function is used with
voltage waveforms to see the related power waveform.
